Alison Wright, an English actress from the UK. Her most well-known character is Martha Hanson in the FX the spy-themed period drama The Americans. She received both critical praise and nominations for a Primetime Emmy Award for this. She has also acted in the Ryan Murphy limited series Feud: Bette & Joan and Hollywood. Wright, who was adoptive by her parents was born in Sunderland in 1976. She began dancing and acting at a young age. Her education was at New York City's Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute as well as The Barrow Group. When she was auditioning for roles in the theatre, she was servers. Scuba divers, she was in a coma after a cardiac incident during a dive. She passed away peacefully just six days later, in the company of her loved ones who had travelled to her hospital bedside.
